Thanked: 315Great seeing these metal and stone scale razors. I've seen MOP on SRP, but I don't remember the last time I saw abalone. Those metal scales are definitely made to last!

Abalone comes up now and then. Maestro Livi was using it on many of his razors. I have one myself.

Excellent! That nicely confirms what I’d found previously, though it does look like your New York razor was reground slightly — that stabilizer doesn’t look original.
Mine also says ‘Independence’ on the pile side. To the best of my knowledge, there are only Philadelphia, Boston, and New York scales.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Likely this one, I could look at it all day rather than use it :-)

I received these 2 for honing today, a pair of Mappin & Webb dressed in Ivory never honed or used quite a rarity.

Thanked: 89I can't speak to market rarity, but this one is rare to me and my most unique: Joseph Rodgers "Corporate Mark" razor.
