Great seeing these metal and stone scale razors. I've seen MOP on SRP, but I don't remember the last time I saw abalone. Those metal scales are definitely made to last!

Abalone comes up now and then. Maestro Livi was using it on many of his razors. I have one myself.

Heres another which was imported by Wolf & Clarks and reads New York on the reverse side. Unfortunately it has been sprayed with a clear coating.

Excellent! That nicely confirms what I’d found previously, though it does look like your New York razor was reground slightly — that stabilizer doesn’t look original.

Mine also says ‘Independence’ on the pile side. To the best of my knowledge, there are only Philadelphia, Boston, and New York scales.

Likely this one, I could look at it all day rather than use it :-)

I received these 2 for honing today, a pair of Mappin & Webb dressed in Ivory never honed or used quite a rarity.

Mark, Before I posted them back I did say to the owner If he ever decides to sell or if he wanted to trade I would like the first refusal.

I can't speak to market rarity, but this one is rare to me and my most unique: Joseph Rodgers "Corporate Mark" razor.
