Just to add my two cents of the whole thing, I was raised Jewish, and though I dont really practice anymore my Mom does, and she drives a VW, to me it's always been a little ironic to see it in her drive way everytime I stop by, even to this day, but the running joke is that by buying the car she has the Germans working for her! Everyone has their own level of tolerance, mine is high and I say it's a piece of history while others might want to destroy it. It's all subjective either way.

After going through this thread, were you able to dig up any more info on the razor as to its authenticity?

Sorry for reviving this old controversial thread I saw one of these razors for sale at Antique Mall for sale this weekend. I did not purchase it and don't know if I want to or not but I am curious for more information about this razor.
The tang is stamped Melchior & Co, Solingen if I recall the other side was blank.
Aloha,
ED

No idea whether this razor is genuine or not, but am pretty sure that there are quite a few collectors of Nazi memorabilia, so could be reproduction.

He was a popular guy in Germany at the time so it's only natural makers would make a blade with his association on it. You see many other products like that. I've seen watches for instance. I doubt he gave them away to anyone.

Thanked: 39What strikes me with these is the appearance. Even modern DOVO or DORKOs have their lable made of "new silver" which is inlayed into the scales.
Compared to those the A.H. razors look rather cheap. Nazis used to be frantic about symbols, and I would assume a gift, especially when given as a personal gift from the "Führer" would be more worthy.
Another thing, showing the person in full and the name underneath it somehow don't "feel" right. I have not seen anything else that simply says A.H. on it. Normally every space available was used for propaganda. So I think a true razor from that time had some "parole" on it and if addressing the person, it would probably something like "...dem Führer".
The orange one looks too "poppy" too.
But that's just feelings, I might be completely wrong.
