It's not the same, I've got a 8/8 coming is a few months from Robert Williams, it would be nice to have a livi too...
and contrary to popular belief, an 8/8 is not oversized or difficult to use... the added weight makes the blade do the work for you, and it just glides through the hair.

I find myself only using the front half of the edge on a 5/8. But we are starting to get off track....

Maestro Livi group buy. Any updates on When, how many, how much, what options?

I have no idea but even if we see a 50% drop off rate when price happens as 500+ will weed plenty of people out this is still likely to be 10-20k of business and labour for Livi. How long would it take to produce 40 razors of adequate quality? If it's with existing blanks and on a production line I would guess pretty quick but if its custom steel, filework, hand picked scales and a labour of love it could take a very long time.

I'd be in depending on price and design.

I think allowing the Maestro to set the design based on a certain set price level is the best way. It may also allow the razor concept to be influenced by the maker; and ensure that the product is deliverable in the numbers needed.

Those who want super exotic materials etc are probably barking up the wrong tree here. I feel that the price needs to be kept at around the $250 sweet spot. Anyone who wants the exotic things should be able to have a custom made razor.

I'll probably* pass on this actually. I've just placed an order with the Maestro independantly, as it's unlikely (IMO) that he'd be able to cater for everyone's individual requirements with such a large order, and I have something fairly specific in mind that I don't want to compromise on.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure whatever gets arranged, you guys will be more than happy with.

Hopefully I'll get mine in my hands before the Maestro gets backed up for 9 months with the giant SRP order.

    * never say never - obviously.

I've decided to pass. I can't afford spending anything over $50 when I have 5 perfectly good razors at home. No matter HOW beautifull they are.

I've already got one of those, but you have to be really careful about the tip... you think a spike is dangerous...

Lynn's been awefully quiet, and this was getting towards the bottom of the page, so I thought I'd bump it back up top...

Any new info for us Lynn?
