    Hi, perhaps there are some Italians that use this term but the more common one is "rasoio a mano libera".

    Бритва (BRIT-va) or a word sounding similar, will probably be the word for "razor" in most of the Slavic languages, as they all share ancient Bulgarian/Slavonic as a mother source.

    Interestingly enough, the Russian term for any bladed tool which can be used as an offensive weapon (sword, dagger, switchblade, etc.) is:

    Холодное Оружие (khol-OD-noye o-RU-zhiye) - "Cold Weapon"...as opposed to a gun which would be a hot weapon. I purchased a "shashka" (Cossack-style saber) while in Moscow and had to go to the Ministry of the Interior to get a stamp saying it was not a "cold weapon" or an antique, but was a reproduction. Technically it is a repro, but the blade can easily take and edge and given the arc of the blade, it could make short work in eliminating someone's ability to wear a hat.

    str8 razor = borotvakés (literally: "razorknife")

    Navaja is not the correct term in most Latin American Spanish for a straight razor. That is simply a pocket knife. A better term would be navaja de afeitar, although resurador is the term normally used for any razor or shaving tool.

    My novia, for example, called my new straight razor a resurador. She is of Mexican descent living in Belize.

    I can't speak to Spanish Spanish though.
