i tried to tell my dad that a straight razor is less dangerous in a fight then a regular knife with a point and he wasn't buying it. i have never been in any significant fight, let alone a knife fight but i can't believe that a straight would be easy to stab with, and slashing wouldn't be all that easy either since the blade doesn't lock. i am in no way trained in such matters though.
Yes... but what if the other guy has a gun?! You could defend yourself offering a free shave and then, after pampering your attacker with a hot towel, warm luxurious lather applied with a silvertip badger brush and some conversation about sports... WHAM! Sweeney Todd style! That's the only way I can imagine a straight razor as a weapon... But I guess it would take some time and a barber chair as an accessory to murder...
