    Default Doesn't This Annoy You?

So you just spent three grand for the most expensive razor in the world made by the most famous razor maker in the world and here comes the mailman with that little box in hand. Oh boy, you just can't wait to rip the box open to uncover this treasure and you open it and out plops this razor wrapped in bubble wrap and thats it.

I mean, don't you think if someone is making a custom class razor it should come in a wood storage box? What's it cost? They make these things in China and they cost a few bucks thats it. I wouldn't even mind paying a few bucks extra for it. Many guys do provide nice boxes and to those guys I say you're a class act but many don't and I say shame on you. Also the vendors who just pass the razors on like that I say shame to you also. Even with typical factory made razors you get a metal box or leather pouch.

You may or may not think presentation is important and you may just stick the box in the closet. Personally I keep my razors in wood boxes and I think its important. I also think the way the razor is presented reflects how the maker feels about his work.

So am I the only one who feels this way.

I would not like Sushi served on a toilet paper, either.

    Default razor

it will bother me if razor price is 3 grand and doesn't have box not just box even who made when and numbered. If blade doesn't have numbers on them i wouldn't pay 3 grand.
I really do think all price include some people makes Damascus blades are overpriced.( i know so many people will go against this but this is my approach )
straight razor uses less metal and almost equal time make one. Prices between straight razor and knifes at least 3-4 times higher.
    This is what i think.

    It's certainly a valid point.

Good analogy Sparq. A nice, wooden case with cloth lining wouldn't cost all that much extra.

I know when I bought my Winston fly rod, hand made and all that. It came with a fabric pouch and a hard case. Would not have bought it otherwise.

If I spent more than $100 on a NEW razor, regardless of the maker, I would expect some kind of nice packaging. Even if it was a rolled in fabric and tied at both ends.

From an entirely practical view, if I'm selling a $3000 razor, I want it in bullet proof packaging just to make sure it shows up safely. Granted, the presentation effect of a wooden box is nice but the protective aspect is what would really make it pay for itself. Bubble wrap is not adequate insurance for something so expensive. A solid box is cheap, and worthwhile, insurance.

I could not agree more! Why go through all the trouble of creating a razor apparently worthy of this price, and cheap out on the presentation. Heck, even an inexpensive Dovo comes in a sturdy plastic case, right?

Part of getting a Michelin Star in a good restaurant in the presentation of the food, THATS how important it is. Somebody give these guys the book "Marketing for Dummies".

    Having said that...

    Can we have pictures!!!?
