Default Your Preferred Straight Razor Point

    Gentlemen,

My new Heribert Wacker Spanish Point razor reaffirms my long-held preference for this type of a blade point on a straight razor. I not only prefer the looks of it, I like the way it sashays in and out of tight corners.

In my small razor collection, the Wacker is the only Spanish Point. The two Dovos are round points. The three Thiers-Issards are also Round Points, although sassy with a little bite. The Boker, I believe, is a French Point.

What is your preferred straight razor point, that is if you have a preference?

    Regards,

    Obie

I like anything with a precise point, so nothing round and only mild muting if any. Square, Spanish, spiked, or notched are my preferences. I think my favorite looking point is the large notch that makes it look like a Spanish point.

I'm finding more and more that I prefer french points and irish points in my razors. They don't make the shave any better, I just like the looks of them

Round point, Sir! I can't give you a valid reason. Just my preference.

I like to have them all! i keep mine all in a wall mounted display cabinet, and I love to see the variation.

I guess I like spike points best, but that's only because they're farthest away from round points which are the only points I really have any beef with. In practice, all other points serve me well.

Spanish point and barber notch - the round points remind me too much of shaving with a butter knife

Xman.... I totally agree round points, are worthless to me, and you loose shaving surface with that type of point. That being said, I prefer spike point or french point, small barbers notch ain't bad either my W&B has one, serves no purpose but does no harm either.

    Sincerely,

I like an Irish Point (or French whichever you prefer to call it) or Spike point best. However, I can comfortably use all of them, and I enjoy the round point as well.
