Thank you for the clarification. With Dovos typically being at least half hollows, the edge would have to be ground down massively to produce an edge 2mm wide. The blade on the hone forms a triangle with an angle of 17deg (+-2deg). The resulting edge is very thin, clearly far thinner than 2mm. To produce edges this wide, you will either need said massive amount of honewear or, as previously suggested, a considerable amount of pressure on the blade when honing, both of which are wrong.

The concern your remarks caused is based on the unsubstantiated criticism voiced by a number of high profile amateurs. Neither here, nor in a large German forum, did members experience such defects. Dovo's QA track record has become almost spotless over the last three years, and I feel that this is an important piece of information for beginners, with whom Dovo is a popular choice based on the attractive entry level models they offer.

This is not to say that flaws do not occur, just not ones as massive ones as the one you inadvertantly described.
