Personally I find most of the diggs in this thread out of place on this site. In fact I'm quite surprised to see who half of them are coming from. I'm pretty new and have known everyone here to be nothing but gentlemen up until this point. I obviously don't know the story behind this(and don't care to) but regardless, do yourself a big favor and keep any bad mouthing to yourself as it really is unbecoming and makes others look down upon you whether you are in the right or not. This is just a little gentlemanly advice and no offense is meant so please don't take any. I have a lot of respect for many of you, your abilities and the generosity you put forth and thank you all for making SRP what it is.
May God bless you and your families this Easter,
-Duke

Duke I am going to agree 100% with you all the way. I know that this is also why the PM was sent and not addressed publicly. Although most members here are great and gentlemanly , such as yourself, there are things that happen behind the scenes that NEED to be addressed to keep this forum just as YOU and I like it.
I do , with no sarcasm , agree totally with you and thank you for bringing it up.Having Fun Shaving

Thanked: 6Yeah...when I started this thread, I was just hoping to find out the differences between these two "points."
I didn't anticipate all this rough stuff.

You know actually you have a point as nobody has really answered in the definate...
EBD
ESC
ETC
PATS
What are these and what do they have to do with razor points????
These are Ford designators for some systems they use on cars some of these types of things start out at one Manufacturer, and then become universal in the whole industry
ABS is a good example
So here is what I know because I have seen it with my own eyes and touched them with my own hands...
Names I have seen printed on Vintage Razor Boxes for points... perhaps the rest of you could look at the older boxes/coffins that you have sitting around and see what names are on there... and POST them...
Round Point
Square Point
Spike Point
French point (since that is one of the "Bad" names I can tell you it was on a Shumate Box)
I have seen Spanish Point too but only on newer production stuff..
Does it mean any of the other names are wrong????
NOPE !!!
If you modify or cut a new design it is your prerogative to name it and someone else can change the angle slightly and re-name it...
Last time I checked there are no rules that say you can't...
So to answer your question I have no clue if or what the difference may be between a French point and an Irish point or even if there is one...
To further this discussion I don't think the older designations meant that a Square point was a neutered Spike either... I believe they were talking about a round point that is squared at the edge like many of the new production Dovo's and TI's that are now called round points.. The older Round points were really round they didn't have the square corner at the edge... see so many questions...

I bet you are! Since we're in linguistics territory, let me educate you too with a reference Sockpuppet (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Incidentally this happened to be against forum rules to which you agreed. Twice (at least).
Nice job, Mr. Ellis, really nice job.
