I with Kelly on this one, use it once in a while. It's a nice razor. Still has the original goldwash on the tang, minimal hone wear.....Very nice, plus I love the way the DD GE's shave....

+1 to Jimmy's sage advice. It seems a shame to not use something as nice as a NOS DD your friend gave you. As others have said, you'll remember him when you use it, and if you don't use it, someone else will put it to use when you're gone. I say lather up and let 'er do what she was made for!

(Just kidding. If you continue to use it, it serves its purpose, but it won't hold so pristine forever. It would also depend on what kind of emotional value it has and how it shaves. Your call - do you want to watch it or use it)
Come to think of it, lots of retirees live in Florida. If you'd like to give you're razor a full, healthy active retirement I know just the place. PM me for my address.

I think part of it's history should include you using that beauty. Save it for holidays if you wish but do put it to use! Make it part of your tradition and it really will have some history behind it.
