Ideas for a rescale?
This razor was going for 120 Euros on the bay. I made a much lower offer, and to my surprise, won. New old stock Schulze. The scales not being quite to my taste are bright pink travelling scales with an integral case. Very classy. I suppose for a female they would be great, or, someone who loves pink...I'm thinking Stephen Tyler?
What I like about it is its NOS, has a French point and a funny detail at the spine/point which I have on another Schulze. Not to mention the spine work.
Question is, what do you think about a rescale, and what materials and shape? Pins also. I appreciate your ideas, there are artists amongst us.
I was tempted to go for bone with bullseye pins, but I'm really not sure. I only have one rescale (my avatar) and literally had no other choice as the originals, which weren't even the originals in Steve's opinion, were screwed. I'm a fan of keeping things original, but these have to go!

Im thinking like what Steve at The Invisible Edge did with another French point:

It would be a shame to rescale that nice NOS razor. But if you don't like them, I would make some ebony, black horn, or black G10/micarta scales for it.

Get yourself a bottle of grand patron. Then use the box, they use curly maple, for scales.

I think I would probbaly go with horn. I had my Revisor rescaled in horn by Undream recently and I have to say that due to the quality of the materials and his expert workmanship, they look great. Would you try to save the SOLINGEN logo and transfer it or just chuck it with old pinkos?
(Please explain: Celebrated Zeepk?)Last edited by leadduck; 07-30-2010 at 05:11 PM. Reason: Spelling

That was your revisor? I saw it a few days ago, looked totally factory! Undream does a great job.
I'd definately want to save the Solingen logo if it were possible. If its an inlay its finished, but I have a feeling it may be ultra thin and 'sit' on the scales rather than be countersunk. Not easy to remove I bet!
The Zeepk thing? Ive got a few Sheffields that refer to 'Celebrated.' Im sure you seen it somewhere.
The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor, (then underneath) 'For barber's use only.'
The Zeepk thing is a joke at Zeepks expense, as letter opening is their only use.

Thanked: 530I think that would look good in a soft Honey Horn, or a good, grey Translucent horn... Whatever you do, try to transfer the inlay (obviously).

I think grey transclucent horn would be great if I can transfer the logo - and use brass hardware with a brass wedge to complement the gold logo and goldwash.
Keep the original shape you think?
