No - I have not shaved with it. I try not to shave with fakes. BTW a good portion of the so-called Henckels 7/8 in circulation are also fakes.

Thanked: 5I am not sure if these are fake or not but seem to be high quality shavers. I purchased a Friodur 7/8 (likely came from Crowley but I did not buy direct from him) and I found it to be of high quality if not a pain to hone. I believe that a lot of these were found as unground blanks and then ground and scaled by God knows who. I am just not sure what class you would put a razor like that in. I believe the stuff this gent is selling not to be low quality Chinese knockoffs (just not sure about the magic basement story and whole WW2 timeline portion of the sellers story)

If your 7/8 is from Crowley you need not have any worries. He is a first rate seller of original quality razors only. I have one of his 7/8 Henckels - it is great. The best thing to do is to buy from a well known seller with a good reputation. Also sellers on SRP classifieds who have been around for a while. For the WW2 Ebay Henckels seller - believe me, the razor is a USD 10- Chinese knock off. If you want a Chinese razor rather buy a Gold Dollar.

PS I have no problem with genuine unground blanks that have new scales. IMO these are not fakes. A razor made in China with a well known German brand name put on it is a fake.

I have seen the listings for Globusman and Les Croix that same person regularly has for sale. I have not physically seen one so I cannot comment on whether they are genuine. All I can say is that his granfather had a surprisingly large cllection of WW2 NOS razors??? Why take chances and deal with someone who sells fakes?

It is interesting to look back on his previous items, in November he described his grand father as a collector but now his grandfather had a barbers shop which closed 60 years ago. If he keeps on selling more then surely sooner or later his grandfather is sure to become a former wholesaler......

Thanked: 3164I have handled and honed one of the three-crosses razors from this chap and it looked like the real-deal to me - in fact it took a stunningly good edge and is now a favourite shaver for the guy I honed it for (who has many, many razors including Pumas, Bokers, Dubl Duck, Fili, etc, etc). Years ago I got a similar three crosses, complete with the box, original printed waxed paper wrapper and sales receipt - genuine beyond a doubt. These two razors are identical in all respects as far as I can see.
Regards,
Neil
