I've cut a new towel when wiping a razor. My wife told me she'll throw all my razors if I do it again!

Now that you mention it, I have a specific towel I had on hand when honing. Going from one grit to the next or at least once during the final pass I lightly stroke the razor edge across the towel...very light. If there is a wire hair hanging at the blade edge, the towel will grab it and remove it before it comes off and gets under the blade edge during honing and causes a small "scar" along the polished edge. That's just me, and other my agree or disagree.

Thanked: 18Too lazy to go all the way back to the kitchen and find the bloody vegetable-peeler, I just used a straight-razor to shave a carrot I was eating...
