I have 3 straights total. Do I win the Fewest Razors on the Board Award?

I don't have a lot of doubles, let alone many by the same manufacturers. The multiples I do have seem to come in pairs: C.V. Heljestrand, E.A. Berg, F.W. Söderén (Eskilstuna); Andersson (Malmö), although I'm not even 100% sure they're by the same Anders(s)on.

I noticed early on into this hobby that I was, quite indiscriminately, amassing razors. So to avoid hoarding a gigantic pile but still enjoying the acquisition of razors, I decided to focus on collecting Swedish razors by as many different manufacturers as possible. One nice one by each manufacturer, possibly doubles if I find a second really nice specimen at a decent price (I refuse to pay silly money for razors) or if they appear in a lot (but I tend to get rid of those, as Swedish razors tend to already be rather similar among manufacturers and quite utilitarian).

I have a few Sheffields, two Japanese ones, some Solingens (which I tend to reach for most often), but again, those are special; either very nice specimens, gifts from friends, or both.

tl;dr: I like my collection to have a point, rather than me ending up as some sort of Scrooge McRazor.

    Regards,

    Pieter

The focus of my collection has changed over the years. When I first got into the hobby, all my razors were Dovos as they were the most readily available. I quite liked the 6/8 shoulderless Dovo Bismarck, of which I had three ( bone, black and red celluloid)

Then I got into vintage razors and focused on collecting Pumas. That was fun because there are so many different models in various permutations and combinations. The novelty faded over the years especially after I started to feel like a crazy cat lady. Most of them are in new homes, although I still have two in my collection.

Currently my collection is no longer brand centric, and consists primarily of vintage Solingen full hollows, 6/8 and larger. I find most brands within that category to be of similar quality and actually prefer the more obscure ( less hyped) brands. Much cheaper too!

    Cheers!

Actually over the years I've sold off over half the razors I had. I kept the premium ones or the ones that were my best shavers. Of course I still have all my DDs.

I'm still looking for that elusive Bresnick Napoleon. If anyone sees one let me know.
