Thanked: 22What's the biggest razor you've shaved with (and how was the experience)?
I have really fell for my 7/8 Hart razor. It's a big sucker, and I've really become quite accustomed to the larger razors. I recently weighed it and it came in between 84 & 85 grams. So, being curious, I put the other love of my life on the scale (a pre 1891 Wostenholm 1XL) and found the 'ol girl came in at 70 grams - quite a difference, however, both are exceptional shavers. Now, I am a firm believer that the big fellas really - and naturally - are simply better shavers because of the weight. You just can "let" the razor glide effortlessly through your beard, for all intents and purposes, on its own. Does anyone out there have similar experiences with the big guys and have found the shave with an 8/8 (or bigger) perhaps even better (in your opinion)???

I regularly use a 10/8 Joseph Rodgers - I find the extra large blade really does allow for effortless shaving (when coupled with a great edge of course).

My biggest razor was an 8/8 Friodur. Sold it two weeks ago, because I get along best with wedges.
My biggest razors in rotation are:
15/16 Wade& Butcher, wedge
15/16 Bonsa (Böntge& Sabin), half hollow
2x 13/16 Greaves, wedges

I've got a 10/8 from Brian (MileMarker60) that I use on a regular basis. Exellent shaving razor. It frequently gets bumped up the line in the rotation.

9/8 Wade and Butcher Barber's Use only. Great shave from this razor. I never thought I would shave with something so large. The razor glides effortlessly over any stubble and is easy to keep a really nice edge. I honed it myself which makes it that much more of a pleasure to shave with.

If we are talking about brand name razors, I'd say a 9/8 Joseph Rodgers.
If razor shaped is OK, I'd say it was a fiskars axe of which the head was shaped like a gianormous quarter hollow. Like a 56/8 razorTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
