Whats the best way to preserve this, and keep it looking like this? Just oil?

Get some renaissance wax - that and Tuf-glide are all I use.

That is a beautiful looking blade. I got a Boker that looked like the one in the sellers pic and when I got it it looked like your pics. Infact the blanket that the seller used looks just like the one in the pictures of the one I got. Either way that is one fine blade. It does look like it was never used.

Yep, light does tricky things to reflective pieces of metal....
It definitely looks like its never been honed, and honestly, Im so new, I dont think I can bring myself to have it honed..Maybe down the road a bit when I have some more experience with straights, and I can better appreciate it....Im thinking to try and find another W&B thats not as pretty, to just shave with....

That puts every old junkshop razor I have in my minimal collection to shame. It looks fantastic; love that etching on the blade, so crisp.

Lol I know how you feel the Boker that I got I wont hone it myself cause I like the look of it and dont want to take the chance of messing it up.

There are lots of razors Ive seen, that are more beautiful. The thing that gets me about this one, is its age, and how it managed to stay completely blemish free, as new for all these years. And not necessarily in someones collection...It was sitting in an old backpack from the late 1800's in Connecticut , according to the seller....For all I know this is not as uncommon as I think. Im pretty new to straights...About 2 1/2 months,,,,,I own 4 Red imps(2 Nos,2 beaters) and an Nos wester bros. And I was completely infatuated with the Imps, warped scales and all....but not like this baby! I just hope I like shaving with this type of heavy grind...

Great looking W&B, Congrats on the find. I know how you feel as I bagged a nice Fily yesterday at an antique store.
