Thanked: 22If I'm not incorrect, if I recall, gssixgun is right on the mark "two" years later. At the very least, I recall him somewhere saying his favorite razor was a Hess of some sort. Does anyone else remember that statement?

Thanked: 146I would really love a Brummel #40. Have only seen 3 on the bay in the last year. Don't know if one will ever come my way, but that's why it's the "dream"...

This is a Japanese NOS razor i've had for a while, and i someone offered me a trade right now against any razor of my choice i would honestly turn them down, the quality fit finish on this razor is superb.

There have been many, and I've ticked off the boxes as I have acquired them, one by one.
up until I got the Livi Snake, that was pretty much it, and had been for a while.
Many others have filled that role over the past two and a half years.
Today, just because it arrived in the mail just now, it is this Robert Williams piece.
Tomorrow, it may very well be another one

Thanked: 13246Oh I have been after a razor like Gugi's since the day I honed that one, I just checked that pic and it was taken 4/2009 the bad thing is there is no guarantee that even if I find one it will be the same thinness of grind either...
I looked in the thread that Jimbo linked and back then I was after a C-MON Cadillac which I have now, but was less than stunned with it filled an empty niche in my C-MON collection but was not the holy grail of shaving
I think sometimes we are after the look, and sometimes the shave, one thing I have a love hate relationship with is the fact that I get to see, touch, hone, and shave quite a few razors, this is good because of the experience, but it is bad when you have a razor that really trips your trigger go through your hands and then can't find another one.. The good news is that is how I found the Hayashi I honed that razor and about a year later was lucky enough to buy it from the former owner
I am lucky in that I have not caught the "Custom Bug" I have a couple, but honestly I like the History of the Vintage razors and most of the customs are a bit big and heavy for my personal tastesLast edited by gssixgun; 05-02-2012 at 04:36 PM.
