No offence Jimmy, but yes, one of the cash up front deals I've been burned on occurred right here on SRP. It happened a little over a year ago. It was not alot of money, so I don't consider it to be a huge deal. But with the scenario TBS put forth, I think there ought to be some sort of safe guards in place for all parties involved.

I wasn't clear in my post. An individual member of SRP may stiff you. I haven't seen that happen often and can say it is the exception rather than the rule. I was referring to SRP as in the "Straight Razor Place" forum. Not to individuals who list in the classifieds or wheel and deal through PMs. In those cases paypal is your friend but I'd say 99.9% are honest and trustworthy.

A lot of California dreaming here.

What does someone like Ellis or Zowada or any of the other truly custom makers get for a truly custom made razor? You think you would get one for $350 or so. A plain jane Livi approaches a half grand and stock TI's are around $200 or more. The prices you guys are talking about will get you something like the original SRP razor done by TI. When B&B did the Zowada Razors years ago it was pretty much out of that price range and that was a standard razor with basic scales.

In the past when we brought this up we got many times the number of guys interested as I see here and now. The interest really doesn't appear to be here sorry to say.

Titanic steel, If properly documented I would pay the $1200.00

No, a proper 8/8 singing blade would be the ticket to get the crowds going wild..
From what little I know, the work required on a 8/8 is far greater than what is required for a 6/8, especially with a hollow, singing blade.

Of Course you cannot get Ellis or Zowada to do a run of say 50/75 razors for 350 Bux/ea.
They don't make production type razors.I honestly dougbt they would be interested.
When this thread started the talk was of maybe getting TI or hart to do it,both are production type companys. With a Quantity discount,$350 is well within there range I feel.

If he gets a group buy he will have enough work for a year.
The other (less preferred) option is to have a custom SRP "sky is the limit" edition razor as a pass around
    Nah.
Here is my closest approximation to the SRP logo razor which I just picked up:-

George Wostenholm & Sons IXL Washington Works
Name: George Wostenholm & Sons Washington Works swayback smiling dreadnought 07.jpg

Question. I just assumed the point was a dreadnought with a swayback and smiling edge, but is this the general consensus or is it a "Spanish" point?
