I never knew you could order from them directly.
I wouldn't worry about shipping I'm sure it will be properly packed. it's just that you have to be OK with whatever shipping charges they have as opposed to some retailer and the wait time and possible Customs issues.
I have several TIs and they are great pieces though their QC has been questionable. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

In the old days pocket knife makers would lay the work on the bench with the back side of the knife handle down. They would pile the scale, bolster/liner, blade, liner/bolster, scale one on top of the other and pin the knife/razor. So the side that was up was the side of the blade with the main maker's tang stamp. The 'mark' side. The side that was down came to be known, in the parlance of pocket knife collectors, as the pile side.
I say 'main maker's tang stamp' because in the very old days many makers stamped all of the blades in a knife. A practice that was largely discontinued for cost cutting and increased productivity.

Thanked: 4827I'll be interested in hearing how it all works out in the end. If you can figure out anything to do with customs charges I'd like to hear that too. As far as I can tell they are just charging us for storage, the longer they delay it in transit the more money they want. Ive drooled over TI pictures for a while.

Thanked: 12I ordered the razor from Home. After I had pressed the buy button and payed through paypal i was sent a confirmation email from The Invisible Edge website. Said it would take maximum 10 business days for the item to arrive.
One thing I really like about the TI website was the fact that whatever price listed is all you pay. Their wasn't any shipping fee's or anything like that - just one payment to cover it all on their end. Also the fact that they give very detailed pictures of the item with many different angles for inspection.
I've ordered darts and flights from the UK many times and never payed any customs but most purchases were 100$ or under while this ones over $400. I don't imagine weight will be much of a factor in the shipping since the whole package is probobly only a pound or under but we'll see.
The wait is going to suck

FWIW, a few years ago I ordered a TI from Steve (Invisible Edge) because they were the best deal on that model at the time. Came in a timely manner (to the USA) and was honed to perfection. A 100% satisfactory transaction. I'm sure your's will be the same.
