I absolutely love my Ralf Aust 5/8 black... I was at the SRD store and i held the dovo best quality and the Ralf and i have to say that the dovo felt cheap in comparison... And i know that dovos are great! But the details on the ralf aust are great! You can tell Ralf attention to details is superb! This is my first none vintage razor and i love it

Thanked: 0I got a Ralf Aust 5/8 from SRD for Christmas (thanks to my lovely wife). It's my first straight razor and I love it. Although I have nothing to compare it to I can tell the quality of workmanship that went into it.

Since this thread was started he has expanded his lineup and these razors have become very popular. Check out SRD for what is probably the largest stock you'll find on them.

Thanked: 96I own 2 6/8 and a 5/8 and in my opinion Aust is the best made straight on the market for the money and I also own a Boker and Dovo. Holds an edge better then any razor and the workmanship and balance are fantastic. You made the right choice.

I love the one I have, I'm looking forward to getting another one sometime in the future, I also think they are excellent razors for the price's they go for. Really a nice buy !

A Ralf Aust is a consistent razor for sure and my cheapest razor of my small collection of razors is my best overall time after time. I like a heavier blade profile too like a 6/8. I want to try a 7/8 next and it may be a RA that gets the nod on that as well.

Thanked: 56My 7/8 RA with French Point is now my primary shaver. The weight and smooth shave are great! I'll still take some of my other enjoyable blades for a spin now and again, but this has become my workhorse.
