Thanked: 4Sorry to bump this thread, but I have a RA 6/8 Spanish point with African blackwood scales on order from SRD. It should be arriving before the weekend.
I've been shaving with a RA 5/8 round point for a year now and I love it. But I'm ready for a second razor and this one looks like a great choice. It also will be great for getting around my nostrils, the corners of my lips, and right against my ears. And this point seems to be the most rounded of all the Spanish points I have seen

That's a good looking razor. I am hoping to add one to my collection some time in the future. Let us know how it is.
Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Thanked: 31I'm currently waiting for my new Ralf Aust 6/8 (different from this one. I bought a shoulderless one with sculpted spine, horn scales and round tip)

Thanked: 4I just got my razor this evening. It is very nice and the pictures on the SRD website do not do it justice..
It definitely has more heft that the 5/8 razor so, it will be interesting to see how it shaves. Unfortunately I will not be able to shave again until Saturday due to a full 3pass, BBS shave.

Thanked: 31I just got mine too . Holy smokes, it looks better than the SRD pics. I just shaved with it and this one is a winner. One of my best razors overall, if not the best, looks and performance and everything considered (my DD Wonderedge shaves just as good, but the scales have to be closed carefully).

Thanked: 31OK, some more thoughts on the Ralf Aust (6/8, round tip, horn scales): the horn scales are very well done, and look good. The blade is shoulderless, which is a nice feature to me, as I strop a bit faster with shoulderless models. The blade also has a distinct sound to it, it "sings" more than my other razors (much more than the Prima Klang, which I sadly don't get much sound from). I also like that the steel has been stamped with the manufacturer name, so not just etchings. Finally, this one shaves like a dream
