As far as the "American point' is concerned that was mentioned earlier in the thread, this is simply a literal translation of the German term "amerikanischer Kopf", which denotes nothing more than a square point.

He also offers a "Schorkopf", which I can best describe as a round point with the upper corner squared off.

The one type of Aust blade that I have somewhat lost the taste for is his shoulderless Bismarck blade.
They are beautiful to look at and are exceptional shavers, but the edges of the diamond shaped cross-section have a tendency to scratch the surface of the strop.
Aust did recently a 7-day set for me, and if it wasn't for that I would have ordered Bismarck blades, but in the end I stuck to Spanish points that work so well with the corners of my mustache.

Otherwise, Austs make the largest group of my razors now and I have come to believe that I can't really go wrong with an Aust.

Thanks, that answered my 2 questions so I can order through SRD or direct.

My hearts desire is a rosewood 6/8 stainless American with the jumping, etching and Schorkopf, no shoulder. I wonder if bolsters would be to much?

Over the past few months I have picked up a couple more Aust blades. Now I have a full "Six Day Set".
Everyone needs at least one day of rest during the week.......
