Hot water prep
Blasberg razor - Sanders & Co soap - NOS Rubberset bristle brush - cold water splash - L'Oreal balm - hot towel - Verveine shower - Penhaligon's Eau de Verveine EdT
An okay shave. First test run for the NOS (50's?, 60's?) Rubberset brush. This one is really hard and it will do just fine for my harder soaps. I don't have many, but just in case. The initial stink is there of course and it's mixed with the stench of "things that one finds on an old attic".
The brush is so hard in fact that it whipped up way too much soap, making the lather too thick. This, combined with a Blasberg that is actually in need of a coticule touch-up made for a bit of a scrapy shave. The second pass with thinner lather was better, but for the first time in many months I almost re-encountered the sense of a hint of razor burn... An odd feeling. The balm soothed that down nice and quick and the shower got me nice and refreshed. Now, the eyes are on the rapidly approaching weekend.

We're house swaping on our holiday and besides a nice car we also got the housedog, great dog (boxer with something more, strong as an ox) and she follows me everywhere now (I take her on long walks every day). Anyhow, that's how I feel about Jabonmans soaps and Myrsols ASs, great products that's been following me every day since I got them
. Razor: Alexander Coppel + Gem Micromatic for head and Rudy Veys brush had to work hard today with the Citricos soap.

Thanked: 485Mikael my friend, so glad you're having a nice time, love the photos, esp the dog photos, I just love scratching a dog's tummy until they do that leg scratching thing. I love dogs in general, they're such lovely people; and so comforting when you're sad. My Dalmatian, Lucy, sleeps IN the bed with me (I swapped the wife for the dog at some stage in life) and in winter it's nice to put your feet against her warm stomach. I know that sounds weird, but to a lot of cultures it's not at all; it's wise...
BTW, also love the razor, the scales AND the blade; very gothic.
Are those glass bottles?Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Cheers Carl, I really like dogs too, allways did, even though we've got cats now (no time for dogs like things are now). Man, I said no cats in the bed when we got them, but of course the bastards sleeps in whatever bed the like by now.
Yes, glass bottles Carl, really nice ones too... Could be the nicest glass bottled bottles out here, I think. + the stuff's freaking amazing... Man, you should really get one Carl, you'll thank me later (remember what I said about Lavanda? This stuff's even better, I think). Yeah, you should get some Carl, you really should and this isn't me trying to enable you Carl, no, I only want your best!Last edited by Mikael; 08-09-2013 at 10:51 AM.

Thanked: 146Pulled out all the stops today and was rewarded with a great shave!
Haven't used the CADE soap in awhile, it's a great rainy day soap I think.

Woke from a DEEP sleep, funny dreams. Funny. Something about a flood. Plus I had extended my fence into the neighbour's land. Funny. Had one of those 'dead' arms. Exited bedroom, entered living area. Let the dog out. Washed the Mocca Pot. Ground some coffee with the vintage Spong grinder. Fifteen turns of the handle, same age as my younger son. Let the dog in. To the bathroom. Undressed. Looked in mirror to analyse physical self. Entered shower. Whilst showering analysed dreams. Exited shower. Dried self. Chose shave ingredients. Looked in mirror to analyse self. Made a lather. Applied lather. Stropped. Whilst stropping analysed shoulder muscles stropping. Analysed how cool it was that I could strop a very thin ivory scaled razor for the standard 30/70 and look in the mirror as I did it. Shaved. Great pressure, almost perfect. Only with the grain. It was enough. Applied after shave. Very nice. Applied EDT. Very nice. Weighed physical self. +700 grams. Dressed. Exited bathroom. Turned on stove under coffee pot. Wiped razor with Eucalyptus oil soaked tissue. Entered bedroom. Dressed (chambray blue French cuff shirt, Edwardian red glass and unpolished brass cufflinks, jeans, brown boots, grey jacket. Prepared and drank coffee (Vintage French Coffee bowl, two sugars, milk), checked this site and facebook and emails. Exited house. Got in car. Put on Alice Cooper (Flush the Fashion). Put on Ray Bans (metal framed). Drove car to work while singing (swapped AC for Ben Harper at the thirty k mark). Entered work. Worked. Exited work. Bought beer. Drove home. Entered home. Got boots. Got boot polishing gear. Polished new boots. Got camera. Got shaving gear. Arranged shaving gear. Took photo. Did stuff on computer with photo. Posted post...
