Thanked: 9Not even a real shave but lathered and tested a razor
B&B Finest Ebony
Genco Tiger 5/8 hollow rp (rare)
TM strop
GFT Limes cream
GFT Limes SF
Wanted to test the Genco. It had been on the Escher, only this time I was experimenting with Caswell-Massey almond shave oil. I don't like it, but won't throw it away, and am trying to find uses. I really perceive a great difference in razor sharpness, feel on the hone, etc. and like the results. (also works for sanding ) So I have Proraso, KMF Lavender, Musgo Real, and Caswell-Massey products to improve my honing (Musgo is not as bad as the others for intended use)
While I prefer soaps, the Limes cream was not bad at all (surprisingly for me) - but Trumper is supposedly one of the best so it figures. I *might* need to get me some rose and coconut creams
Cheers

Shave #9
Hot towel
Proraso pre-shave cream
C&E Sandalwood Shave soap
New C&E Super Badger Brush
Dovo Standard black 5/8
Proraso After Shave cream.
Took a very nice, long, hot shower that was very relaxing and helped me get into the whole mood. I had just watched Lynn's DVD and like the idea of the multiple hot towles. I applied the pre-shave cream and placed the first hot towel and just laid back to soak it in. The combo of the cream and the towel was very nice. Lathered up the soap and applied it with the new brush which works very nicely, though it is a little big. Still I love it. After getting the lather on my face I laid back with the second hot towel, which was also very nice. Rinsed with nice hot water and then applied more lather. Started shaving, going slow and really just taking my time and really enjoying it. That DVD really gives some good pointers about how to pull the skin in different directions. This was the first shave in which I didn't nick my self at all, not even on a zit. That was an accomplishment. Finished off and found with the new skin pulling technique I really didn't need much off a second pass, just a touch up here and there. Rinsed off with hot water, applied a third towel and just soaked it in.
Finished up with the Proraso after shave and cleaned up. Nicest and most enjoyable shave yet. Really made a big deal of it and just enjoyed the whole experience. It was really nice as I kind of had a rough day, so this was the perfect way to end it.
