Bastard of a shave. And I'm blaming these two for the experience.

Prep: Hot shower with cedarwood soap
    Brush: Seomogue 1305
    Soap/Cream: Chidoriya
    Razor: Henkles Friodur 72
A/S: Captains Choice Bay Rum, Em's Balm

I tried a boar brush since I've never used one before. What a terrible experience. It took all the luxury out of a good shave. I imagine that if I shaved in a garage, this would be the brush to use the experience I might expect. The soap, Chidoriya did not flatter the brush any. It created a lather much like Trumpers. It looked decent but had NO cushion or protection. I might as well have been shaving with plain water. Had it not been for my Friodur, there would not have been anything to satisfied with. Try again tomorrow.

    OCDshaver,

Don't blame the brush...Semogue's are excellent Boar hair brushes.

Try your brush with some real suds--Mitchell's Wool Fat, Martin De Candre, Mama Bear's, Tcheon Fung Sing, or RazoRock...

They may be. But I think I learned today that I'm not a fan of boar.

Yes, you do sacrifice on the loading with the boar brush, just got the same one, but I really like how it digs into my beard. Give it one more try with a good soap.

I'm not sure a different soap is going to make me like this brush any more. I didn't like anything about the way it performed or felt. I think this one is simply not for me.
