I'm with you on that one my friend.

No what you mean...if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Mind you, must admit the smell of that boar brush at first caused a bit of a gag with me...took some serious washing to get that smell down!

Yeah, there was some stench there but I've had badgers stink out of the gate too. I trust that will shake loose over time. It's animal hair. I didn't expect it to smell great.

April 1st: Start of the school/business year in Japan

    Proraso green preshave and soap
    Razor: Tanifuji Threedoll
    Alum block, styptic pen
    AS: Kanebo Eroica "Valiant"

I've only been str8 shaving for a few months and this was a really nice shave. I'm even more happy by the fact that it was with this razor, my first blade restoration. I'm a little upset that I had to break out the styptic pen. Pimple under the chin.

    Cool A glutton for punishment

Next in the list of shavers to be honed is this Wosty; I got the blade without the scales a while ago and when it arrived I knew it was going to be a bear to fix. I noticed that someone had grinded one side of the shoulder down to the blade. I cleaned the blade and gave it the “full Pinocchio” the full range of greaseless compounds until the blade was shiny. Next it was three layers of tape, bevel set with the 600 grit chosera; 3000 and 5000 Nanis and finally a la naturel a Belgian coticule, a very slow cutter; I used no slurry. I shaved with it tonight a took off all the peach fuss, used CO Bigelow and a Semogue brush to whip up some suds, followed by alum stick and a palm full of Gabels Bay Rum….attached is a couple of pics before and after, the blade I must say has a temporary set of pantaloons.
