Thanked: 4206SOTD SATURDAY EXPERIMENT
Pre:Musgo Real
Suds:Osma
Brush:badger and horn
Razor:Boker Magnum Fleet Street
Post:alum
A/S:Pinaud Citrus Musk
Bought this as a pocket knife/conversation piece really only to find it was hinged just like a straight, without a locking position and so realized it was impractical as a pocket knife.
Edge was horrible as received so I doubled taped the spine and spent a few days trying to turn it into a proper straight, edgewise.
This is a Chinese division of the Boker franchise and as such I did not expect much. But the edge came up very well on this 440 SS alloy. Surprisingly well to my relatively limited experience. Much better than the Gold Dollar I still have.
I have 5.5" of good edge, only the last inch is still rough due to the spine slope.
Shave was a three pass pleasure but stropping was cautious as heck.
Result was BBS, without any alum sting although I chose Osma cream in case I hit an artery while wielding the big axe.
Fun experiment, with surprisingly good results. I now have my Halloween shaver.
Cheers gents.
