Conclusion: Old Spice soap rocks! the Clover Four is a nimble little thing and as pretty as a peach, I do prefer a 6/8 or bigger as a rule, but this thing feels like a surgical instrument.

I have to ask...where did you find NOS old spice? I grew up remembering my dad shaving with that and I'd love to pick some up for him as well as myself! Thanks in advance.

    Friday

    Feather AC DX
    KAI Captain Sharpblade
    Shavemac D01
    AOS Lavender SC
    AOS Lavender ASB

I use the Feather AC and KAI Captain Excelia lots of times as daily shavers to save myself some time. Some may consider it sacrelige to use a straight that doesn't require stropping, but I enjoy using them and I get a really, really great shave from them.

I've pretty much always used the Feather Super Professional blades in both of them, but lately I've been trying out the KAI Captain Sharpblades just to see how well they actually shave. They're more economical, and frankly the Feather dispenser I have is defective and I sometimes have a hard time getting a blade out of it. This is not an anomoly as others have been experiencing the same thing from time to time. The KAIs come out very easily and smoothly.

I love a super sharp blade. I really do. Feedback is not an issue I concern myself with. The Feathers are sharper so I have been favoring them for several months now, but the KAIs seem to work just fine so far. I do get feedback from the KAIs as I can hear and feel the whiskers being cut. This is not the case with the Feather Super Pros. Those seem to just glide over my skin and the whiskers' only feedback is visual, when they're floating around in the sink. I love that.

At some point I'll write a review for both the razors and the blades. I'm not quite yet satisfied that I have enough experience with both blades to write anything yet. But I do get good shaves from them both so far.

The razor is a 6/8 Le Grelot that another member is letting me borrow.

    Cool SOTD Friday Dec 4

Prep>> Shower + hot piping water in my red neck scuddle+Proraso Pre/post cream
Cream>> TOBS Sandalwood. Boy I love the creaminess and elegance of this cream...I am planning to try the TH version.
Brush>>Vulfix 23 mm badger brush. This is the smaller of all the brushes that I own. I highly recommend Vulfix brushes. You get quality for the money.
Razor>> I used a DE tonight. After months of shaving with a SR, I desided to try a DE. So I took out of retirement the Merkur 34C Hefty and gave it a try with a brand new LORDs blade.
    Astringent>>Thayers Lemon
    As>>Proraso Splash>>Loooove the methol

    Results>>>BBS three passes. SHAVE ON.
