Thurs-Dec 3 Shave
Prep...A nice hot shower followed by my favorite Proraso Pre/post cream
Stropped the razor 30 times in webbed fabric and 30 in red latigo...since it is a freshly honed razor there was no need for ChroOx. Its plenty sharp.
Razor.....Dorko 8/8 blade round point in red scales. This is the only 8/8 that I have and love it, I favor wider blades generally...no problem handling under the nose and upper lip..got the hang of it already.
Soap....Erasmic in a tube added five drops of glycerin...man awesome thick lather.
Brush...Big bruiser Omega boar bristle this is a big 26mm knot
Astringent....Thayers Lemon
AS...Aqua Velva...love the menthol, always.
Results...BBS, no nicks, cuts or razor burns again!
Background music....Pink Floyd "The Great gig in the sky"
PS. I know I have posted this already; but here it is again. Dorko 8/8 round point. The brush however is not the boar bristle used today..obviously.

Thanked: 137Brush: Semogue 2015
Soap: Tabac
Razor: EJ 89 with Astra blade (2nd shave on this side of the blade, 4th with this blade overall)
AS: Light coat of Nivea Replenishing AS
Shave was excellent, I've finally worked out how to get a perfect lather with this Tabac that doesn't stick or cause skipping or dry my face out, like it used to (make what LOOKS like a perfect lather as normal, then add some more water and whip) and now I'm getting excellent shaves with it. Definitely a keeper in my soap rotation.

Razor: 5/8 Red Point
Brush: Vulfix Super
Soap: Kell's Aloe/Hemp Arabian Spice
Kept it simple today. Not a great shave though. I had a bit of a scare/adventure in the middle.
I dropped my razor while moving my hand down to wipe it, so I basically threw it at the counter. It hit on the spine and bounced. Being stupid, I reached out to catch it. Caught it by the scales. The blade and edge are still perfect, but it scared the #%@& out of me so I had a hard time on the ATG pass (dropped it right before that).

Like Maximilian, I keep a folded towel on the counter space in front of the sink...in fact, I have a dozen barber towels neatly rolled up in my shave den. I always dry my hands right after I lather my face to avoid having slippery hands; in addition, I rinse the blade and wipe it keeping everything dry: blade, scales and tang. Glad you were ok.
