Great job on the SOTD's guys. I've been lacking with the pictures, but it sure is fun to come see all yours every day. It's also fun to see the new guys migrate from "well I got a million nicks and serious razor burn" to consecutive days of "Result: BBS".

    Have a great weekend.

I swear I could take a hundred pictures and none of them would turn out sharp.

    Thursday December 3rd
Beard Prep: Shower, cetaphil face wash
Razor: Fil 4/8 Doble Temple in handmade cocobolo scales
Strop: Fresh off swaty hone, zeepk ~25 leather
    Brush: Rex Pure Badger
Soap: Van Der hagen Glycerin shave soap
    Astringent: 86% Witch
Result: Used about 3x as much soap as necessary to make a very thick gooey lather. Feels good man.
Conclusion: Razor's shave ready now. Nice blade, not any better than my Puma, but not much worse either. The brush is nice, lathers like a boar but feels much softer. I don't much care for the smell of the soap, luckily it's faint, but it does make very good lather so long as you're plenty generous with it.

    Default WOW

The shave I just (literally) had was FANTASTIC! It was smooth and everything just came together beautifully! I've been using the same tackle for a week or so to try to figure out some things. I think that between the better stropping (as noted from Tuesday's shave) and just letting each pass take care of itself and not digging in on the first one, I may have found the answer to upping the number of silk smooth, no-weeper, no-burn shaves. I also tried the Aqua Velva tonight...it's good, I like it. For $4.00, I'll take it. Great end to a trying day!

    Prep - Hot water prep
    Strop - 2'' web/latigo 50/50
    Brush - WS boar
Cream - C.O. Bigelow and glycerin
Razor - 13/16 Bengall wedge/spike point (my fave razor that came beautifully honed from Rayman)
    AS - Aqua Velva
    ASB - Nivea Extreme

    Wonderful!

    Julian
