    Default Tuesday

Prep: hot shower + Proraso Pre/Post cream
    Cream: Proraso
    Scuttle: Stacked mugs
    Brush: unknown 1930s badger
Razor: W&B "The Celebrated Hollow Ground"
Post: cold water rinse, Proraso Pre/Post cream + Old Spice AS splash

The razor needs a touch-up on a hone but otherwise good shave.

First, that JC above is stunning. Great razor, thanks for sharing.

Last night, back from the gym after not having been for 3-4 months:

    RR Paladin 3"
    Eskiltuna 5/8
    Rooney 3/1
C&S Oxford SS (this stuff smells incredible)
    Alum Block
    Thayer's WH
Pinaud Clubman (in the spirit of the rancid review)

    This morning:

Strop: Ambrose Crazy Thick Monster Strop (2 1/2 inches)
    Razor: 5/8 Red Point
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Institute Karite
    AS: 444

Result: Crappy shave. I give up with this soap. I hate it. I have gotten great results with everything else I have tried, but I just can't do it.

    Back to Fitjar and Kell's

    Wonderful haircut tonight.

    Clauss 5/8" Coronation 1902
    TGQ sandalwood vanilla
    TGQ aftershave sample

This razor is my ugly duckling. One of the first razors I ever owned, it had a chipped edge and I wasn't originally fond of those scales. Only reason I bothered keeping it was because of the coronation etching. Since it was a practice razor, I breadknifed the chip out and honed it myself. Now it's probably the best head shaver I have (I separate my razors by whether I use them on my head or my face) and it cleaned up pretty well to boot.

Wife got me the Conk mug and the background liquor bottles for my birthday last month. I bought some TGQ soaps for the mug and decided to try out the aftershave, and boy is that stuff great!

Ugly duckling? Man, I would pay just to look at your swan then...

    That thing is gorgeous.
