Merry Christmas Everyone! Today was a special shave for me!

This razor was branded by James Dewsnap of Sheffield, a cabinet maker who had razors branded to sell with his cabinets and boxes. Dewsnap is my mother's maiden name, and I've never seen it anywhere else. I found this on ebay a while back and the gentlemen here were kind enough to let me win it with minimal effort.
I cleaned it up and honed it up but met with some difficulties. I took it to Max who lives in my home town, and he performed his magic on it. It looks like new and shaves oh so smooth.
The brush was given to me today by my mother. It came with an AOS brush stand, a bowl of AOS unscented soap (which has funny discolorations, will exchange for sandalwood hopefully!), and the shave mug my grandfather Dewsnap used.. I also received a L'Occitane CADE after shave tube, metal soap bowl and travel brush. Not a bad haul! Now on to the shave...

A special razor for a special day. We picked this up for a song at a local shop and Jr and I rescaled it last spring in ebony and blood wood, finished w/ epoxy, nickel pins, sterling silver and ss washers. When posted in the gallery someone stated that it looked like a razor one would find in the Pope's pocket so we call it the Pope's razor.
