    Cool Wed-Jan 6 Shave

Prep: Nice hot shower + Proraso Post Cream
Razor: Boker Edelweisse 5/8 stropped on SRD three inch red latigo 30/30. Already honed and ready to rock 'n roll.
Soap/cream: Speick red tube wipped in SRD bulldog mug.
Brush: Vulfix Badger 22mm. Nice little brush, builts a nice thick lather.
    Astringent: Thayers Lemon

Result: Nice close shave...oh, the joys of straight razor shaving!

    Footnotes:

Background music: Cat is asleep...so all I could hear is Pink Floyd's CD Division Bell's Cluster One.

It is cold here in Miami...53F going down to 39F (no heating system in the house) sooo..adult drink tonight...Barefoot Merlot followed by two shots of brandy. OK, I am breaking out a sweat....SHAVE ON.

That's a really big, very nice looking razor.

BTW...What is that equally impressive object in the background? A scale model or replica of an engine?

    Razor: Takahashi Norikazu Kanetake
    Brush: Omega Hog
    Lather: C.O. Bigelow
    Aftershave: Blue Floid

My second shave with a Japanese razor and I felt much more comfortable with the blade, which resulted in a better shave. JimR video was a great help with my shaving technique, and following his advice about going across the grain which allowed me to get fairly close to BBS on most of my face. I noticed that the Japanese razor, at least to me, requires short shaving strokes and the point is bit scary, especially when shaving in the “hollows” of the neck. I don’t know if this is common, but the razor smells like tools/gun barrels, which I noticed tonight while shaving my upper lip.

    Burrr 53F here! lol.
