Default To Fat or not to Fat...

Razor: Dubl Duck Special No. 1 11/16"
Brush: Rudy Vey 2 band horn
    Preshave: Origins Easy Slider
Soap: Fat on a stick (mwf shave stick)
    Astringent: Thayer's WHWA
    After Shave: Ogallala Bay Rum
    Results: So smooth!

I bought this off someone who was less than happy with it's less than NOS status: minor blemishes and VERY warped scales. I honed out some wavy chipping near the heel, went through the progression patiently and this edge was unstoppable. Blew away every German edge I've ever honed or borrowed. Now I understand what the big deal is with these daffy ducks. Super light, very stiff, easy to hone and a delight to strop, took an incredible edge from my very own hones. I also now understand what it means to be aware of a spike point, and have a scar by my left ear to prove it!
As for the scales, I know a guy
My English Fern is out to a friend, so I was slumming it with the MWF. I've never used it in a bowl, but boy does it work great milled into a shave stick. Oodles and oodles of lather! Grab a cheese grater and join the club! I may be sad when I run out of my English Fern, but as long as there's Mitchell's Wool Fat I need not fret.

Thank You Sir thank you very much, can you make it a Cuban? ...... Max? ...lol

Those little engines are said to go like the wind (sic) and some engineers dont even agree that they should run in theory! go figure. that will be the difference between thinking about something and doing it I guess.
