BlacknTan, SOC brush has shown up in a few of your SOTD's so far... What do you think of it? I've got one that'll be shipped out to me sometime soon, but want to know what others think of this brush.

    Thanks

    Saturday, 7/10/10

    Geo. Wostenholm Celebrated 5/8
    C&E BBB
    C.O. Bigelow sc
    Thayers Cucumber WH w/ aloe
    Pashana a/s
    Nivea Extra Soothing a/s balm
    Woods of Windsor Edt

Very good shave with the Wosty as always...the Bigelow provided a nice cushion with it's mild menthol kick. I like the Pashana on occasion but it's scent tends to linger (not a bad thing, but interferes with any fragrances to follow). Went for the WOW anyway despite the Pashana...

    SOTD Saturday July 10, 2010

Razor: 13/16 Frederick Reynolds Wedge Hollow Point in Bone
Washington "The Champion of Liberty" Blade etch
    Shaving Cream: Proraso
    Lather Bowl: Ceramic
    Scuttle: Ceramic
    Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
    Aftershave: Mennen Original Skin Bracer

Just rescaled this FR Wedge in Gray Bone.
The original scales were badly deteriorated, broken and being held together with adhesive tape. I love this razor! It's one of the smoothest shavers that I have. Weighs a ton!

I just don't see how it would be physically possible to get a better shave than this. 3 passes, BBS, nice menthol bump from the soap and the AV, it really was a perfect shave.

    Default Saturday Afternoon

Prep: Warm shower--followed by Robeson bay rum beard prep method
    Brush:
Rooney 3-1 faux Tortoise "Super Badger"
    SS/SC:
Valobra “Menthol” + TOBS “Shaving Shop” = Superlather
    Strop:
VB Red Latigo--55 fabric; 60 leather
    Razor:
    5/8 Dovo “Black Star”
    Astringent:
    Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Zirh “Soothe”
    AS:
    Floid (Spanish) “Suave”
    Result:
    Cool, calm and collected…

Today's superlather was truly super. The mixture of Valobra SS and the TOBS SC exploded in my shaving scuttle. Best lather and best shave I've had since I began shaving with a straight.
