    Thanks SZ,

The Ern was a restore by Max, it was love at first sight so I pull the trigger fast, it has been in my rotation for over six months now. I also enjoy your posts so keep 'em coming. HOG

They are great shavers aren't they? Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

I came over for the weekend and the first shave of the weekend went very smooth. Joed shaved with the same materials right after me.

Thumbs up Variation on this week's theme - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Stephan's Smooth Shave Cream
Razor: 5/8" Dubl Duck Special #1, Spike Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Superlather: CarrieM Bay Rum Creme + Trumper's violet soap
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Post-Shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food, Trumper's Moisturizer
Cologne: Trufitt & Hill Gradton 1805
Result: I got this Dubl Duck special #1 from a B&B member last week...beautiful bluish tang. Cleaned out the blade with Maas (still has some micro residual pitting I can't get rid of with current tools), reset the bevel and sharpened/polished the edge on my Naniwa 5, 8 and 12K stones followed by 10 laps on CrOx linen and 50 laps on leather. My experience: Wooowww, what a shave...This blade ROCKS !! Edge was wickedly sharp. Now, I know what the fuss is about with Dubl Ducks (I have a second one - Satinedge - which I haven't used too much and a third - Godedge - which is being rescaled/restored by Max). This DD Special #1 wacked my one-day old whiskers like a fine tuned lawn mower. I was also happy with my honing ability (which I don't have a lot of experience with...first bevel reset). CarrieM's Bay Rum creme (along with Trumper's violet soap) delivered the moist superlather for this exceptionally smooth shave.
