eTom: Thank you for the compliment. The Diamond's full hollows are supposed to be the best though I have not tried them. This one certainly didn't disappoint. I really reccomend Japanese Western straights.
LeagelBeagel: As soon as it arrived I knew it paired perfectly with my brush. They are a beautiful team. Thank you for noticing.Last edited by ganboyi; 07-29-2010 at 04:22 PM. Reason: spelling mistake

These are "singing blades". I like it.
But it isn't a razor for beginners- by my mind.
Have fun and congrats!

Razor: 13/16 Double Arrow Extra Hollow Round Point
Shaving Cream: Cyril R. Salter Wild Rose
Lather Bowl: Ceramic
Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
Brush: Medium Badger
ASB: Nivea Replenishing
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman ASL
Another fine BBS Shave with the Double Arrow. (a very maligned and under-rated razor IMHO) This mornings observation of the Salter Shaving Cream has probably changed my preference from shaving soaps to using shaving creams more often. The Salter had good cushion and didn't allow for any irritation from the three pass shave. The glide was adequate to allow the razor to do its business without hesitation or drag. The cushion wasn't as good as the TOBS however, it was as good as or slightly better than the daily workhorse creams such as Proraso, Musgo, La Toja etc. The Rose scent of the Salter is very nice and is not overpowering when used. (It's pretty strong when snifted right in the tub) The price of the Salter is double that of the daily creams so it's more a matter of preference as to the relative value of this cream. If you like it for scent or it's performance factors, it is worth the premium price.

Thursday shave -Day 4
Day four of my experiment.
Yesterdays honing put a great edge on the grelot so there wasn't much to shave off this morning.
Had to rush and only did one pass which really didn't leave me a good shave I just rushed it too much. It's ok though. It just means I'll be able to have a better shave tomorrow!
Strop: 3" latigo 50 canvas 120 leather
Razor: Le Grelot 6/8
Brush: Omega 05
Soap: DR Harris Lavender
Aftershave: Nivea Balm
Cold water rinse and strop 25/50 oiled with ballistol and put away.Shaving_story on Instagram
