Robert,
Thanks...I've been evaluating shaving soaps and creams. That's why most of my setup is the same-old, same-old everyday. I'm trying to keep certain variables constant, such as the razor and the brush.
I'll take Sunday off from my evaluation, so keep your eyes peeled for the debut of a new razor in my rotation then.

Razors: 11/16 Frederick Reynolds "Hamburg Ring" Full Hollow, French Point
11/16 Wade & Butcher "The Celebrated" 1/4 Hollow, Hollow Point
11/16 Wade & Butcher Full Hollow, French Point
11/16 Robert Klaas "Prussia" Full Hollow, Spike Point
Today was shave test day for the above razors after honing. The FR, and both W&B's were pretty nice before the honing and they are exceptionally keen now after going through the hones. I have had trouble getting a good edge on the Klaas Prussia razor and last night it met it's match. Went back and re-set the bevel properly and worked through the stones finishing with the 12K and a good stropping on the fabric and the leather brought this razor up to properly shave ready. All of these razors are now ready for providing close, smooth and comfortable shaves. Considering that they were all E-Bay finds and the condition they were in when I got them, they turned out to be great razors that I will happily keep in the rotation. Finished off with the Klaas and got a BBS shave. I'm very happy with the results!

Thanks...but, alas it's not vintage...Found it at Target. $12.99 or something. This one has a greenish tint to the glass. They also carry the blue-ish tint which I am thinking about getting soon. It really is a nice, stylish glass for my glycerin. I can control the amount .

You are "DA MAN" Monroe ...I like your approach, very scientific - one variable at a time. That's the way to do it right. It allows you to nail down what works much faster.
Can't wait for the debut of your new razor (Monday, right?)...Now, you certainly have my interest picked with the new SOTD starting Sunday. Let me venture a guess: Is it a Wacker, perhaps?

Hi Stroker,
I like your W&B's.
Shall I give you my address to send it to Germany?
Congrats! Nice items.

Friday Shave - Day 5
Day 5 of my little experiment. Im thinking its going to have to be my last because my work schedule wont let me shave everyday next week unless i have midnight shaves.
Decided to go all out for this shave. Did a with the grain a across the grain and then against the grain on my face. For my neck i just did 2 with the grain passes because its very sensitive on the against the grain pass.
Great results and so far not really any irritation just a little red but it went away after the aftershave.
Was kinda annoyed tho, lots of interruptions. Everyone decided it was time to call me or knock on my door! And to top it all off i nicked the razor on the sink, so i took out the coti mid shave and did 20 laps. Good as new!
