Thumbs up Week of August 8 SOTD - Friday

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + fresh lemon juice
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truffit & Hill
Razor: 7/8" Novelty 1879, 1/4 hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Creme/Überlather: Al Raz Da Bomb Custom Shave Creme (scent: cloves + orange + a hint of cinnamon, formulation: dense)
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Post-shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food
    Cologne: Sparks, Claiborne
    Facial Moisturizer: Trumper's Facial Moisturizer
Result: Second time with Da Bomb today. The lather was even better than yesterday. I have not experimented by mixing it with any other combination(s) of soap/glycerin yet, but will soon - once I am certain I got the hang of this formulation, which I feel is very close. However, I am not sure if I will see an improvement in quality/density of überlather...this thing is as dense and moist as I have seen in "überland", so far. As far as the shave, my Novelty is one of my first and favorite spikes. This thing is like the "Genie in a bottle" who willingly grants his master's every morning wish - "Whiskers be gone"...and "Poof", just that simple. The shadowy and pesky growth magically disappears and makes way to a smooth and refreshed skin. And so my friends and fellow shavers, as every other cycle in life, this battle of wills will once again come to bear fruit tomorrow. Stay tuned as the saga continues. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Thank you maestro. I appreciate it. I am afraid that these pictures were more or less a "quick setup and shoot" kinda photos. One of these days, when time permits, I will do a better choreography with appropriate color balance, color rendition and lighting

Friday the 13th... Layin' low today!

Aura Glow as a Pre Shave Oil.... Perfect for a Friday the 13th
    Speick Shave Cream
    Vulfix 660 Badger
    Bowdin's Wedge 5/8ths
    Tony Miller Artisan .. 45 Linen/80 Latigo
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    Spanish Floïd Suave AS

A European multi-national shave today... Razor and shave cream from Germany... Brush from the Isle of Man, American strop and Spanish aftershave punctuated with my favorite Scottish libation.
The Speick cream has always given me trouble, in spite of it's great reputation.. So today I changed my approach by leaving much more water in the brush than usual, and Voila (that's French), a SRO performance! This cream was due to not have it's contract renewed, but I've just changed my mind!

The only thing missing is my friend Froggy to honor the appearance of "The Frog" single malt... Maybe when things cool down a bit!

    Hi Bill,
I totally forgot it was Friday the 13th...Spooky, but I love your international shave setup. You never seize to get one of the most interesting setups on SOTD

    Well done maestro

    Hi Tom,
I am not sure you will need tutorials ...you seem to be quite well with your special effects of late. Very nice pictures indeed

    Strop: SRD Modular
    Lather: Proraso White + Penhaligon's BB + 4 drops
    Brush: Best Badger Travel
    Post: Thayer's Lavender
ASB: Nivea Sensitive + Lime SkinFood
    EdT: Penhaligon's BB

Result, vey smooth today. I guess if I'm limited to a single creme and EdT, at least it's Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet. I just love this scent!

    Bill,
It's always good to see your SOTD and "virtual face" here...even if it is the same setup . It's nice to have you connected to this thread/forum on a daily basis. For that, I thank you

I hope that you are well and bet you can't wait to get back home
