Sir??? what is this "sir" stuff. I appreciate your politeness immensely, but c'mon...I am only twice your age (well, almost) . But, your sentiment is much appreciated Matt
We should do this meet-up this upcoming Saturday/Sunday again.
Oh...I can't wait to receive my Max-ed out W&B Bow and Goldedge from Max either. You bet you're going to see them in upcoming SOTDs (and drool ).

What straight?? Forget the str8 man....I would live with no shaving for a week or so if I was where you are. Man...come to think of it; I wish I was there. Seems sooooooo serene and peaceful. I am sooooo living vicariously through your SOTD right now . Thanks for sharing
Enjoy your stay.

my wacky adventure.
So, here it goes...
Shave cream: The Bomb "Bodega" (thank you Matt)
Razor: Wacker "Wickinger" (thank you Robert)
ASB: Proraso
Result: Very smooth shave with lots of nicks. I don't know if its the size of the blade (since I never shaved with anything this big before), the fact the razor is not mine and i was trying to be very careful with it (thanks again for this opportunity Robert), or the fact that the lather tended to dry out way too quick compared to my usual Proraso lather, but i managed to nick myself about 10 times. I never noticed any of the nicks until after the ASB got applied, and none of them where painful in any way so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and also partially blame my technique... next time I'll be more careful.
All in all it was nice to try something I hadn't tried before, it fortifies my current beliefs and shows me that i still have tons to learn.

You're welcome David...that Wacker ain't for the faint of heart (John puts a mean edge to it)...but it is only a 6/8", which I don't consider big. Considering the fact that you are used to (and comfortable) using mostly <5/8", I would say it has a bit of learning curve associated with it.
If you think this is big, wait 'til you try the Fili DT 14 (that is a 15/16") and twice the size of anything you're used to.
Have fun with them.
Interesting start for your Saturday, heh?
