    Mark,
How do you like your Friodur...this is the one you got from John? That's a monster compared to the 7/8...not in terms of width but length

Yeah Robert, this is the one I got from John at Shaving Shop. I like everything about it! Like the looks, like the heft and especially like the smooth shaves it gives!!

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + Stephan's Conditioning Smooth Shave Creme
Razor: 6/8" Maestro Livi new grind, Hollow, Round Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Best Badger
Überlather: Al Raz custom "Da Bomb" Shave Creme

Result: Today is my day off, playing hookie...well not really, gotta take the both our cars in for 5K service, but will meet up with David (nubskillz) and Matt (thewatermark) later on for some cool shave talk. But I digress...Back to shaving: I used the Livi for the first time today...Wowwww!!!! Very nice indeed . This thing is wickedly sharp. But boy, did it shave...What a feeling . I am ready for the day...bring it on.

    Default Restoration

    Razor: Le Grelot Frameback
    Lather: L'Occitane Savon a Barbe
Brush: Shavemac custom 23mm in Pure
After shave: alum block + pure rosehip oil

My first attempt to restore a razor, not the best looker, but is the sharpest razor I own. It was relatively easy to attain a superb keenness level. Plus the scales I believe are of a dark horn. I love the vintage feeling.

Shave was BBS only after 2 passes

Glad you like it...I have a 7/8", which I love...Will be sending it to Max for a rescale (maybe Black paper Micarta + inlay transfer from another scale)

    Cool water splash
    Speick Shave Cream
    Vulfix 660 CremeBadger
    W.H.Morley & Sons Clover Brand 11/16ths
    SRD Premium 1 strop .. 40 linen/80 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    English Leather AS

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly...

The Good... To say I love the Premium 1 strop from SRD would be a huge understatement... this product could turn stropping into a "Fatal Attraction..." The Morley blade always produces, and I'm glad to have learned to use the Speick cream... The scent takes me away to the deep woods of the Black Forest whenever I use it... Great stuff!

The Bad... I've had the English Leather around here for ages. Years ago I didn't like it, so just put it away. I offered today to give it a fresh start, and another chance, but all it did was prove to me that I still don't like it, so it gets the big raspberry for the day!

The Ugly... That's me! I wish it tweren't so, but it just is... I can live with it!

Thank you Mark...got mine from SRD. But C'mon man...Go ahead, pull the trigger. You know you want to . Type SRD in your browser's address, hit enter, navigate to the Maestro Livi link and hot new grinds and choose the one you want (That Cocobolo one has your name written all over it. You don't believe me? check it out...it says: "reserved for Mark"). In all seriousness, if you can, get one...A Livi should belong in everyone's arsenal of str8s.

I really love this blade...but come to think of it, I feel like a broken record by now ...I love all my blades! They each have their own little personalities of sorts.
