    Default Saturday

Another front yard view of my residence, facing the street where I live--North Meridian. N. Meridian is a major city thoroughfare and the homes in this neighborhood are designated an "Historic District." One block south of my residence (photo on the right) is the home of author Booth Tarkington, best known for his novel, The Magnificent Amberson's, which Orson Welles later adapted to the silver screen. One block north of my home is the Indiana Governor's mansion. Sorry gents, no photo. The current Governor doesn't live there, however.

    Prep:
Hot shower--followed by Robeson bay rum (mentholated) beard prep
    Brush:
Heinrich L. Thäter Series 4376/2 21mm Finest Badger Silver Tip
    SS:
EJ “Sea Buckthorn" + TGQ “Desert Ironwood”
    Strop:
VB Red Latigo--50 fabric; 55 leather
    Razor:
    5/8 Dovo Ebenholz “Silver Steel”
    Astringent:
    Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Zirh “Soothe”
    AS:
    Booster “Polar Ice”
    Result:
A fitting conclusion to Themed SOTD week…

    And here is Today's SOTD:
    Cream: The Bomb Bodega
    Razor: Shumate 0115
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB: Coral Skin Food
Results: Really took my time this morning and it paid off. While Proraso might be amazing for my quick morning shaves, the Bomb took a little longer to get right but it performed very well today due to Matt's and Robert's advice on using it. Thanks guys.
Also, this is now my #3 favorite razor. Shumates really take a wicked edge.

    Camera: Rebel XTi
    Lens: 50mm 1.7

Default Told ya I'd join in :)

Well Here it is, it aint very often, being in a city and all that I get a view that I truly think is nice, but this is the horizo view from the window right next to my desk and at this time of year as the sun's heading off to bed it is beautiful, I don't really think my picture does it justice really.

    Prep

A nice hot shower, a good face washing and a hot towel before shaving and between passes.

Razor - Ladwigs American (Milwaukee Barber Supply)
    Brush - Tweezerman
    Soap - SRD Lime

    Post

Cold water rinse, a rub with the alum, more cold water, a towel from the freezer and some witch hazel from the fridge, I let my face settle and padded it with another hot towel, massaged in some skin food, splashed on some sandalwood aftershave splash and some dirty English EDT to finish me up. Oh then I grabbed a cold one, and a cheese pizza and sat watching a movie.

This shave took me about an hour. It felt great, and was luxurious, and best of all not for any special occasion or for going out, but just because I wanted to chill out relax myself and watch a bad movie whilst mellowed out, and tat was the most awesome feeling

Not much more I can say about today's shave beyond WoW!! My wife's Elephant Ear makes for a nice backdrop..

In the inimitable words of Brutha' Hog... SHAVE ON!

I'm tied up at home today, so here's a few from a recent surfcasting trip to Montauk, L.I., which bills itself as the Surfcasting Capital of the World... Now, that might be a bit of a boast, and I'm sure that fans of Cape Hatteras and the islands off Nantucket might take exception, but "The Point" is a Mecca...
A friend from Colorado came out with his brother from New Jersey in search of Stripers... It was a beautiful mid_May day, and my friend did not go home disappointed... Not a monster, but a nice Bass!

The mighty Atlantic... Next stop.. Ireland!

The bluffs at the point, with Larry and Cal on the beach...

    And, the money shot... Success!!

I'd like to thank all my SOTD brothers who participated for a most enjoyable week of SOTD tales and photos, and to Max and Glen for dreaming the whole idea up...

It was simply an awesome week!
Cool shots Bill...Yoy should also be in that picture man. You;re always MIA

It was a pleasure sharing some photos with you and the rest of the boys on this forum
