The pleasure belongs to us
Dearest José,
If I may speak on behalf of everyone here (and I hope I don't put my big foot in my big mouth ), allow me to express our gratitude to you, Glen and Max for making this happen. After all, they were your photos that inspired the genesis of this theme. We are the ones who feel fortunate in sharing this thread with you and as such, it should be us thanking you, as well as the moderators Glen and Max.
So, as the famous gladiators of Rome used to say (slightly modified):
We who are about to shave, salute you .

Thanked: 66Wow!..I looked at EVERY post here!...I got a little choked up seeing through everyone's "Lenses"
Bravo to everyone who posted..though I must say..Thanx to everyone's creativity in these pics and descriptions!..Sadly I have not much to show..due to living in Los Angeles..nothing but streets, cars smog n people in a rush to get to work (it's true, no one slows down..even in the rain and their cars)

What Auburn, Alabama lacks in natural beauty (can't compete with Glen's Idaho) we make up for with team spirit. When football season starts, this sleepy little village on the Alabama plains is transformed into tailgate central. You've never seen anything like it. The university prohibits fans from arriving prior to Thursday to stake their claim to their tailgating spot.

Sunset/rise photos are not easy to do with a foreground. Was the sun setting or rising? I have been photographing sun sets and sun rises for about 25 years. Your photo is very nice but would need a different lens to get the focal point you were looking for.
Great shot, thanks for posting it!!

I partially remove my thanks:)
Bandman, thanks for the first sentiments. As for the last statement I formally retract my "thanks for this useful post". Just kidding. Any Alabama fan that would come to Auburn for the day is OK in my book
Robert,
That may be a bad idea. Bandman and I may get tossed from the forum for inappropriate online rivalryLast edited by LinacMan; 08-29-2010 at 07:50 PM.
