A fantastic shave this morning...I think this Geneva Pyramid is just the right razor for me. 30 laps on the canvas and 50 laps on the leather and went to work. I had a day's growth after a very, very close DE shave yesterday so there wasn't a lot to shave but with the La Toja I managed to do a damn fine job. Great razor/cream combo.

Ooooops! Sorry Rene...my mistake. It's a Vulfix brush for today, not Vestavia (corrected the post)...I forgot to change that when creating the table from yesterday.
The Vestavia is an OK brush...it's not amongst my best brushes. I find the handle on the heavy side...it constantly tips over into my bowl. it also seems like a 22mm to me, not 25mm (according to my crude measurement of the knot) and comparing it to my 24 and 25mm Shavemacs. The bristles are a bit "prickly" at the tip compared to my Vulfix/Shavemac and Thäter. I received this brush for free as part of a deal I made with John when purchasing a few Wackers back several months ago. Don't get me wrong: I really like John a lot and admire his venture into making this brush...But, I don't think I would be paying to buy this brush...especially considering that for $30-$40 more, I can pick myself a luxurious Thäter or Shavemac.
Can you tell I like Shavemac and Thäter?

Razor: 13/16 Joseph Rodgers Improved Silver Steel Wedge, Hollow Point (Thanks OZ!)
Pre-Shave: Proraso Crema Pre Barba
Shave Cream: Cyril R. Salter Wild Rose
Lather Bowl: Ceramic
Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
Brush: Medium Badger
ASB: Nivea Replenishing
Aftershave/Cologne: Clubman GEO Aftershave Lotion
Results: Silky smooth and ooooh soooo comfortable!
First shave with the Joseph Rodgers Wedge from OZ (onimaru55) and it has re-set the bar as far a smoothness is concerned! Oz has put an edge on this wedge that is the keenest I have ever experienced. He finished it on a Nakayama Asagi & stropped on a Kanayama to create a superbly super smooth edge. I love this old girl and she's going to be a steady in my rotation!
Adding some local scenery to the post. This is a shot of Applegate Lake at the end of the valley where I live.Last edited by Stroker; 08-27-2010 at 02:10 AM.
