Thumbs up Week of August 29 SOTD - Wednesday

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + Fresh Lemon
Pre-shave: Almond oil (this is really good stuff)
Razors: 6/8" Wacker "Wikinger", Near wedge, French Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Überlather: NancyBoy Replenishing Shave Creme + Mama Bear's Amber Romance Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    ASB: NancyBoy Replenishing AS
Facial Moisturizer: NancyBoy Replenishing Facial Moisturizer
    Cologne: Givenchy π (pi)
Picture: Zion National Park...River Hiking the Zion Narrows
Result: Today was NancyBoy day! from Shave creme to ASB and moisturizer. I used almond oil as pre-shave oil an this stuff works great and it is cheaper alternative to Truffit & Hill. The NancyBoy (NB) replenishing shave creme has a fairly strong cucumber scent...once you get around this fact, it is an awesome creme. Using Mama Bear's Amber soap somewhat masked the cucumber smell and it was great. The NB lathers very well in an of itself, but by giving it some steroids (soap + glycerin), it really exploded into a moist and thick überlather. Then came the main actor - the Wacker, near wedge. I had lent this to David last week, which he used to slice and dice his face with (sorry David ). One should not be fooled by the size of this beast...despite it's mere 6/8" width, it is one mean shaver (honed by John Crowley himself ). From the moment you hold it, you can tell that this blade commands respect. Needless, I had a wonderful and ultra smooooooth shave with my Wacker...Violà, fait accompli!! No fuss, no mess...pure bliss . NB ASB and moisturizer sealed the deal for the day...I am ready to rock.

    Wednesday, 9.1.10

Aura Glow as a Pre Shave Oil
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Semogue SOC UltraBoar
    Gebr. Weyersberg Corneta 078½
    SRD Premiun I Strop .. 50 Linen/95 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
Ice Blue Aqua Velva .. Men Get it!

September 1 get's the juices flowin' for the dogs' tune-up days to soon start, and in turn for the pigeons in the loft to start sayin' their prayers extra carefully. Time to get the launchers charged and in tip-top shape, and get all the equipment sorted out..
We'll be lookin' for some good hard points this season...

BTW, no pigeons are harmed in any way during training sessions. They are placed into the trap, launched and then return to the loft to continue their activities of eating, making little pigeons and trying very hard not to become lunch for the ever circling hawks... Being under a dog's nose is the least of their worries!

Great shave this AM! This Corneta is very impressive!

Thank you . Lucky you for living so close. Zion is one of my wife and I's favorite frequented places. Where do you live? St. George?

This time we didn't make it to the Sub...I did that one a long time ago, but wouldn't mind going again. Timing has to be right (and water level). We found Sept to be a very good month for that...not too hot, not too cold.

Cedar City. It is a beautiful area. Think I'll stay here a while I really enjoyed the Subway hike too. September is ideal for those river hikes. The runoff has finished and the heat isn't too brutal.
