    TGIF

    Cool Water splash
    Palmolive Classic Shave Cream
    Simpson's Ehsan X2L
    Krusius Bros. KB Extra 67
    SRD Premium I Strop .. 40 Linen/80 Leather
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    The Baron AS

The photo in the background is from my daughter's wedding day... I don't recall the year, but I still had a few dark hairs here and there, so I assume about fifteen years ago.
That's me on the left with my daughter next to me, my wife in blue on the right and my son kneeling.
Today's shave was great. The KB nailed it as usual. As for The Baron AS??? I don't remember where it came from, but I could not imagine a Baron wearing this stuff! Ahh well, I've smelled worse!
It's another hot and extremely humid day awaiting a brush by Hurricane Earl, and I hope it cools a bit once he leaves. Years ago, hurricanes were always named after women, for obvious reasons, but now in a PC World, they alternate..

When the heat starts to lay me low, I look for snowy pictures to cool off, so the second is a refreshing mid winter shot of our camp in the Central Adirondacks... I love snow, and I find it helps!

I had two days worth of stubble, but the M&W melted it away, like it was nothing much. I couldn´t tell the difference to a normal shave w one day stubble. Amazing razor!

    SOTD Friday September 3, 2010

Razor: 11/16 Loeffler & Sykes, Full Hollow, Spike Point
    Pre-Shave: Proraso Crema Pre Barba
    Shave Cream: Proraso
    Lather Bowl: Ceramic
    DScuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Semogue Boar 1460
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
    Aftershave: Mennen Original Skin Bracer

Results: Great shave, close and comfortable.

Stropped this Loeffler & Sykes that I honed a few days ago on some pasted strops. 20 passes on 1 micron Hematite and 20 passes on .5 micron CrOx. Then 20 passes on the SRD Premium IV. I did notice the edge seemed to "bite" when I check it with my thumb. It felt like the edge was a lot sharper than it was before the pasted strops. The shave was great and I surely didn't diminish the edge but it didn't have a noticeably outstanding difference either. It may be that it's been a few days since I used this razor and I don't recall exactly the "feel" to compare adequately. I have only used this razor once before as well and so the unfamiliarity factor may be entering in here. At any rate, the shave was very close and comfortable and my pasted strop skills needs to be further examined. Learning is a daily process and time will tell.

    Rene,
What a blade ...Although I have not had the pleasure of experiencing one of Stefan's honed razors, I have heard that his are some of the meanest, sharpest but smoothest edges out there.
Well i can honestly say he can put a mean edge on a razor. I love the Dorko!
