Pretty good for a short barrel pistol. THe kick is the weight..I have a Keltec .32 that kicks like a 9mm...so yours must be kickin' like a .40. Nice pistol. I likke the hide away types.

    SOTD 10-02-10
    Prep: Hot shower
Strop: SRD Premium IV English Bridle
    Razor: Boker "King Cutter"
Brush: TGN premium silvertip in Custom Cherry wood handle
    Scuttle: SRD
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    After Shave: C.O. Bigelow "Mentha"
Result:This mornings shave was with a new Boker i picked up from SRD when I bought my Premium IV Bridle strop (the 2 together were a much better deal). The blade is 5/8 and was quick and nimble as it glided across my face. The C.O. Bigelow cream is amazing stuff. It has such glide & cushion that I find myself using it more and more often. Additionally, the cooling effect it has on the face (especially when coupled with the "Mentha" lotion as an aftershave) leaves you feeling as if your face has been dipped in ice for the next 30 minutes.
Pistol: Glock 19 9mm Luger (9x19). Another polymer framed pistol. It holds 15+1 of 9mm Luger and has a 4.02 inch barrel. This is the compact version of the Full sized Glock(smaller grip, .47 inch smaller barrel). This is one of my favorite pistols to shoot (next to the S&W 9pro). It feels great in the hand and is very accurate. The funny thing is I never "wanted" a glock until I held one, it just fits my hand perfectly.

IT's THE WEEKEND!!!. First and foremost, the shaves have been amazing this week gentlemen, let's finish strong! Thanks for taking the time to share. It's going to be a B-E-A-utiful day! Have a great Weekend gentlemen, you've earned it!

Post Week of September 26 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Almond Oil
    Music: Miles Davis, "Bitches Brew"
Razor: 5/8" The Diamond, Extra Hollow Ground, Round Point
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Überlather: CarrieM's Dragon's Blood Shave Creme + Cella Crema Da Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin
Post-shave/Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Facial Moisturizer
    Cologne: Alt Innsbruck EDC
Result: I recently got myself a couple of "practice" blades to learn more about my hones. Today's shave is with one of these; The Diamond, 5/8" Hollow ground. This blade was in mint condition. This baby took an edge fairly quickly using the following progression and 1 layer of tape over the spine: 1) Naniwa 1k (bevel setting), 2) Coticule w/slurry (dilucot), 3) Y/G Escher (thank you Jimmy...I am loving this stone ), and 4) Nakayama Kiita/Asagi (slurry with Botan, Mojiro, Koma, ending with the tomonagura). It passed the HHT test before the hair even touched the edge. HHT aside, the real test was in THE shave. It whacked those whiskers like a weed killer!! The cushion provided by the lather was exceptional. CarrieM's creme brought out and complemented the performance of the Cella. The GFT moisturizer mixed with a few drops of Alt Innsbruck EDC provided for the finishing touches to my skin...a moisturizing and refreshing end to a perfect shave.

    Default Thursday

This shave was soooo good, I had to post a pic, even if a little late. This combination of razor/soap and balm go very well together. Such a smooth and glowing finish!

    Have a nice weekend!

I can't get over this blade Tom...what a beauty . I particularly love the French tip w the barber's notch and the scale design (especially the wedge and where the blade's toe closes)

Aura Glow as a Pre Shave Oil
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Semogue SOC BigBoar
    Hayashi Diamond 74 .. 13/16ths
    SRD Premium I Strop .. 50 Linen/200 Leather .. I just can't stop!
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea AS Balm
    Spanish Floïd Suave

This H. Diamond 74 has been around for some time. It's NOS, and the original plan was for Pro honing as a benchmark to judge my efforts against, but I have a new addition on the way that will fill that niche, so I did this one myself.
As soon as this steel hit the stone, I became aware that I was dealing with a different animal. The "clink" of the spine on the stone, and the way the steel felt on the hone told me that this was a hard piece of steel. It also needed many more laps to accomplish the same results.
I had entered a new dimension...

A dimension not only of sight and sound... but of mind,
A journey into a wondrous land who's boundaries are that of imagination,
Your next stop... The Honing Zone
