I booked my first gig with a restaurant owner, picked the tunes, hired the guys I wanted. Rudy Vey also delivered the first prototype turned grenadilla bass end pin yesterday. Dramatic improvement in sound. After this shave, I'm really looking forward to tonight!
    Justin,
Beautiful blade and have fun tonight.

Thanks guys, hopefully this turns into a regular gig or leads to others.

    Kikuboshi Special | Kanayama | Shavemac Silvertip | Tabac + CarrieM BRV + Glycerin | Thayer's Lavender
CarrieM AS Milk | Pen's Blenheim Bouquet

Got my NOS Kikuboshi and immediately took her to the stones. A few laps on the 8k followed by about 30 turns on the nakayama kiita with a light meijiro nagura slurry then about 20 more turns on the nakayama with water only. Th edge was super smooth and left me BBS+

Great week of shaves, gentlemen! Thank you for sharing and for letting me share...

Razor: 6/8" Solgen Real Japanese, Hollow, Truncated French/angled spike point
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Al Raz' "Potomac" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap+ Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    After Shave Splash: Irisch Moos
Result: It's great to be back home...I especially missed my straight shaves. So, after torturing myself with the Fusion for the past few days, I opted for the "Solgen" today. What a feeling to be able to hold the straight in my hands again. And this blade was in no way shy...she held her end of the bargain - whacking those pesky whiskers away. Al Raz' Potomac creme was truly a wholesome and awesome creme (courtesy of Bill...thank you ). Even though I field tested it yesterday, I wouldn't really consider that data point solid enough to hang my hat on . Today, I whipped it properly with the Shavemac in the bowl gifted to me by Bill and his wife (not shown). I even mixed in a little MWF/Glycerin...as I expected, Al's creme delivered a thick and super moisturizing lather. Now...I don't know if it's because I was paying more attention to the process, missed my routine straight shaves or simply the fact that I "psychologically" detest shaving with multi-blade cartridges, but my prep felt exceptionally good today. The "Solgen" had no problems ridding my face of the ~24-hr whiskers of yesterday.

TGIF everyone...what a way to end the work week. Have a fabulous Friday gentlemen and an equal, if not better shave.
