Post Week of October 24 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truffit & Hill
Razor: 7/8" Novelty 1879, Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Trumper's GFT Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue
Result: The Novelty delivers a consistently fantastic shave and never disappoints. Smooth as silk. No irritation, no burn, no mess. Clean as a whistle. The lather was equally fabulous and refreshing...One can't go wrong with Trumper's GFT and MWF's lanolin moisturizing base. BBS shave in 3 passes.

Very nice James. Great setup. So, how's your singing?

BTW: Sorry for the thread hijack , but can you tell me how you embed a video in posts? I read the Wiki but it's a bit confusing with all the codes etc. A step by step would be appreciated. I am sure it is simpler than I have made it out to be in my head.

    Tom,
I'll have to take a picture later and post, but here's one from an earlier SOTD I did.

Beautiful composition Robert. Do you notice any difference when you use a preshave oil?

    Thanks Rene,
Honestly...no difference at all. Now, when I started using straights 7-8 months back, I would use the oil and noticed a big difference. And that's because my technique (and lather making and prep) weren't quite there. Once I got the lather, prep and technique down, the use of pre-shave oil quickly became obsolete.

Now, everytime I use it is because it smells great .
