    Hi Chris,
Nice SOTD my good man...we are seeing a lot of the Kai lately. Seems like you are growing quite fond of it!!

BTW: is that the new EF or old formulation? How do you like it?

    Default SUNDAY MORNNG SHAVE

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub
RAZOR: Henckles Twinworks 401 in Adoration Ax scales
    BRUSH: PJ3
SOAP: AOS sandalwood with SRP sandalwood
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers superhazel
    ASB: Trumpers SW
    AS: Booster Mosswood
EDT: DKNY picnic in the park
    RESULT: Pretty smooth

Not a bad shave to start off my Sunday, i bought this razor on the bay for cheap and just got it yesterday, spent the day doing a mild cleanup and honed it up. It is sharp but it could be smoother, so I will take her back to the hones, however even though the lather and smoothness I feel from my skin makes it a good shave today.
    HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY GUYS!

BTW: Sorry for the thread hijack , but can you tell me how you embed a video in posts? I read the Wiki but it's a bit confusing with all the codes etc. A step by step would be appreciated. I am sure it is simpler than I have made it out to be in my head.
Thanks! My singing isn't the greatest...

Embedding videos is much simpler than the wiki makes it look. I tried all sorts of stuff (getting the embed code from youtube, typing in all the codes from the wiki...), then finally just copied and pasted the url from the address bar on youtube. When I pasted the url, the video appeared. I don't know if it works with any other site than youtube or not. Hope this helps.

    Default SOTD Sunday Shave 10/24/10

Managed to hone a nice dual bevel job on my old John Coe "Really Good" wedge last week and broke out the "lather factory" for today!
As I expected, Really Good!!! Have a great Sunday!

    SOTD Sunday October 24, 2010

    Razor: 1912 Gem SE
    Blade: GEM Personna Stainless Steel
    Pre-Shave Prep: Hot Towel
    Shaving Soap/Mug: Tabac
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Semogue Boar 1460
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
    Aftershave/Cologne: Aqua Velva Musk
Results: Two pass BBS Shave; effortless!

It's hard to believe that they perfected the Safety Razor back in 1912 and it went the way of the dinosaur and was replaced by the Cart System. Go figure! When you have a great design that works as well as the GEM 1912 SE Razor, you've pretty much nailed it!

That diagram is awesome Bruce . Thanks for sharing. Don;t you just hate when supposedly "new & Improved" replaces good old great and simple and effective?

PS: How was your day of "eviction" yesterday ?

Thanks James...that "code stuff" threw me off too and really couldn't figure out what the Wiki was really talking about. If would be nice if someone could translate all that computer jargon into real "layman's" English.

I will test a video URL just to see how it works. I thought that by posting a URL, the whole site would link up, rather than just the video...but hey, if it worked for you, that means it must work.
